To be placed on a waiting list for any tickets that become available, please email Maggie Frey at mrolfes@iu.edu with your name, email, and number of tickets you would like to purchase.

Join the IU Jacobs School of Music and David Henry Jacobs Bicentennial Dean, Abra Bush, in celebration of sixty incredible years of the Society of the Friends of Music. One of the oldest giving institutions on campus, the Friends of Music has provided more than $10 million in scholarships to thousands of IU’s music students since its inception in 1964.

On November 15, you are invited to toast sixty years of generous giving by the Friends of Music, and for a very special night at the opera. Following dinner, drinks, and performances at the Neal Marshall Black Culture Center, be our guest at the Musical Arts Center as the Jacobs School of Music premieres The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, commissioned by the Met and co-produced with Indiana University, is based on the Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel by Michael Chabon. With a ticket to Celebrating 60 Years of the Society of the Friends of Music: A Night at the Opera, you will also receive admission to Friday evening’s stunning performance by composer Mason Bates and librettist Gene Scheer.

Celebrating 60 Years of the Society of the Friends of Music: A Night at the Opera will both benefit and honor The Society of the Friends of Music as they celebrate 60 prodigious years of supporting scholarships for Jacobs School students.
